About Benson Grist Mill

Benson Grist Mill is a historic site in northern Tooele Valley, beside a spring-fed pond. Pioneer artisans built the rock-and-wood gristmill, completed in 1854, and it processed wheat and corn until the 1940s. Volunteers began restoring the structure in 1983, and it is widely regarded as one of the more intact pioneer-era industrial buildings in Utah. Group gatherings are centered on The Bowery pavilion, and the site hosts seasonal community events such as a farmers market, a fall festival and a holiday lighting.
