Set among mature trees, open lawns, white fencing and countryside near Richmond, Amber Grove is a historic estate centered on a farmhouse dating to 1884. The house includes a front parlor and living room used together for indoor dining and cocktail parties, a dining room, and a two-room suite that serves as a bridal changing area and indoor seating space. Spacious changing areas are also provided for both bridal and groom’s parties. The 40-by-80-foot reception tent connects to the house by a covered walkway and opens from a covered deck. It has retractable sides, climate control, an 18-by-20-foot dance floor and a DJ stage. Its comfortable capacity is 150–160, with capacity up to 200–220. Wedding ceremonies may take place at the garden gazebo, beneath a 200-year-old oak, under the tent, or in the climate-controlled upper barn during spring, fall and winter. The property also has a fire pit and lawn areas for games. Event coordination includes assistance with menu design, planning and execution. Amber Grove’s preferred caterers provide the wedding buffet; outside catering is not permitted. Clients may provide their own alcohol with a one-day banquet license, and Amber Grove supplies bar staff and equipment. Rental, setup, breakdown and cleanup are handled by the venue. Wedding use is exclusive, and scheduled event time is five hours, with additional time negotiable. Space charges vary by day and season; charges for other events depend on the event. Vendor services such as photography, music, cakes and florals are the client’s responsibility, with coordination assistance available.
